Optical Amplification is a site specific immersive installation consisting of a quadraphonic sound setup, 24 laser modules, a smoke machine and a projector. The installation runs on custom developed software that incorporates neural networks, artificial evolution and Markov chains into an algorithmic composition. Each laser module is linked to a specific audio frequency which in turn is linked to a location in the space. The software composes in light, sound, space, and time, creating an unpredictable fully immersive audiovisual environment.
